- Establish the Internet connection. If you don't know how to do it, consult your provider.
- If you have a fast enough computer the IDLe will be started automatically at the MetaStock lauch (in the real time mode) or TradeStation-GlobalServer launch. Otherwise the IDLe must be launched prior to the analysis application.
- Click the "Start download" button (
 ) or select File->Start from the menu.
- Enter the login and password in the appearing window. If you have entered the correct login and password, the data download should begin automatically.
- The download may be suspended at any time without danger of the saved data loss by clicking the "Stop download" (
 ) button or by selecting File->Stop from the menu.
- Only the data from the Active list is downloaded.
- During the next connection the data will be loaded only from the time specified in the column Last load date. If you haven't used the IDLe for a long time, you can shorten the download time by increasing the Last load date. It will be especially effective for short interval data. For example, downloading minute data for a period exceeding one month is absolutely useless (see Notes).
- During the download, and later as the data is received, you can view and analyze the data with the MetaStock or TradeStation. When the button "Send data to clients" (
 ), held down, the charts will be updated in real time.
- Attention! When charts are added to TradeStation, choose "Use natural hour bars" in the symbol setup. Otherwise the bar time will be shifted as well as the conversion from shorter intervals to longer will be incorrect.
- Attention! When you are done, not only IDLe and MetaStock Professional, but also MetaStock File Server and Equis Data Server. To do so, right-click the mouse at the appropriate icon and select "Close".
